GTS offers an array of logistics support services ranging from on-line logistics management and reporting, to material management of Government-furnished and Contractor materials, to MIL-SPEC packing and shipping. The Logistics Department has the personnel and resources to identify and acquire the materials, individual components, and other items necessary to support development and repair efforts.
GTS maintains a secure facility to store retrograde assets returned from the Government for repair. Upon completion of repair, in accordance with acceptance test procedures delineated in the contractual terms and conditions, assets are forwarded to the applicable Fleet Industrial Support Center (FISC), as directed.
GTS uses the Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV) application, which provides an automated method of tracking Government-owned repairable assets as they flow through the repair cycle at the depot facility. The main purpose of CAV is to provide an inventory management system for repairable assets while they are at commercial repair vendors. CAV also provides the Navy Item Manager with visibility of their repairable items throughout the various stages of the repair cycle and the current status. CAV on the Web allows GTS to report transactions as they occur. These transactions automatically update the CAV database at NAVICP.
